Lego Star Wars 40298 DJ Polybag Review

The next minifigure in the Lego Star Wars collectable minifigure polybag line is DJ from Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The set itself contains DJ and a display stand and name label and consists of 20 piece. This set was a gift with purchase promotional set to celebrate the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

DJ:

Out of the five Lego Star Wars minifigure polybag DJ is definitely one of the simpler minfigures in terms of overall design. What is really nice about this polybag is that DJ wasn't in any of the sets that tied into Star Wars: The Last Jedi so getting him in a cheap polybag is without a doubt the strongest thing going for this polybag. The minifigure features a detailed torso showing the jacket that DJ wears during the escape scenes from Canto Bight with Finn and Rose, and has some subtle print on the legs but as the overall design is dark it is sometimes much harder to see the finer details going into this minfigure. The bearded head print is a nice feature and along with the hair piece combo resembles the character well.

Display Stand:

The display stand itself is a rather simple but effective build. The actual display stand uses a couple of bricks to build the frame of the stand and then uses a modified 1x2 with stud on side brick to allow you to place the name plate onto the stand. Each polybag comes with its on background art and the background art for this set is of the seating area of the ship DJ stole on Canto Blight. The background is held together using Technic pins which just slot into the back of the stand. You can also connect the other polybag display stands together using Technic pins which slot into the side of the display stand.

Overall this polybag is a chance to get an exclusive minfigure that has not currently been in any of the sets in the Lego Star Wars line and probably won't be in the future, so this is your only way to get the minfigure if you are a collector, but it overall doesn't exactly stand out that well from the other minfigures in the line of polybags, but still an exclusive minfigure is still an exclusive minifigure at the end of the day.
