Lego Marvel Superheroes Advent Calendar Day 24

The final day of the calendar is here so lets have a look at what day 24 has in store for us.

Day 24:

Day 24 consists of the moulded Infinity Gauntlet piece that have previously appeared in Lego Marvel sets and contains a full set of Infinity stones. If you are still looking to get hold of a full set of stones and an Infinity Gauntlet piece then this is technically the cheapest way to get them all in one place in a Lego set.

What's great about Day 24 is that the Infinity stones can be placed on the Christmas tree from day 23 making an Infinity Christmas tree which looks fantastic. The Gauntlet itself can also be placed on the top of the tree as well make for a great Marvel themed Christmas tree.

You also get a ton of spare Infinity stones as well which is always handy in case you lose any of them (or if Thanos takes them)

Overall Day 24 is a great entry just for the gauntlet and Infinity stones by themselves but makes for an even greater entry once combined with the Christmas tree.

The Lego Marvel Superheroes Advent Calendar has certainly had some great entries especially during the second half of the advent calendar. and hopefully we get a new one next year to see what other festive version of minifigure we could get.

What do you think of Day 24? and the advent calendar as a whole? let us know in the comments below.

Have a great Christmas!!

Lego Marvel Superheroes 76205 Gargantos Showdown 2022 Review

Set Number: 76205
Set Name: Gargantos Showdown
Theme: Lego Marvel Superheroes
Pieces: 264 pieces
Price: £24.99 / $29.99
Minifigures: 3 - Doctor Strange, Wong, America Chavez

Release Date: 1st January 2022

This set was purchased at Jedlam Toys & Models.

Today we are taking a look at our first set of 2022 with the Lego Marvel Superheroes 76205 Gargantos Showdown based on the Marvel Studios Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness. Currently this is the only set to be released based on the latest MCU film.

Minifigures:

Doctor Strange:

Doctor Strange returns in the set with a completely new overall design featuring a brand new torso and leg print which closely matches the characters on screen appearance in the film (that we have seen so far from the teaser trailer). The minifigure uses the same face and hair piece used in the Lego Spider-Man: No Way Home sets with the new moulded cape piece returning in this set too. The minifigure also comes with two trans orange dish pieces to create the illusion of magic which looks good but no where near as good as those printed dish pieces we got in the very first Doctor Strange set. Overall a great looking minifigure.

Wong:

Wong returns in this set too with a brand new design featuring a very detailed torso and leg print design which looks fantastic. The face print and hair piece return from the minifigures appearance from the Lego Spider-Man: No Way Home set but his appearance here is a huge improvement in terms of design, however the hair piece still looks a bit strange here as well. Wong comes with two pink dish pieces used to create the illusion of magic spells which is a nice contrast to the Doctor Strange minifigure.

America Chavez:

The third and final minifigure is our first ever America Chavez minifigure a character which is making there MCU debut in the new MCU film. Not much has been seen of the character so far apart from her appearance in the recent teaser trailer but the minifigure looks good based on the little content we have seen.

The minifigure features a detailed shirt and jacket design with good printing on the back of the torso. The America Chavez minifigure also comes with newer mid legs hinged pieces which is a nice inclusion and a rainbow pin badge which is a nice looking printed piece. The only thing I would change would be the hair piece to more closely match the characters on screen appearance, but overall a good new minifigure to add to the ever expanding Marvel collection.

Gargantos:

The main build itself consists of a bring built version of Gargantos which has been seen briefly in the latest teaser trailer and overall looks fairly accurate in terms of overall design. The build uses around 80% of olive green pieces containing multiple cheese slopes in olive green and slopes and tile pieces to help capture the overall round shape of the body of the character.

One of the main focus points on the actual body is the large eye which uses a trans yellow dome piece set against a white circular plate to create the shape and depth of the eye, but more impressive is the printed pupil piece (yay no stickers!!).

The biggest visual draw to the set is of course the multiple tentacles that are found all over Gargantos. The tentacle pieces are all in olive green and are connected to the main body using Technic pins and hinges to allow you to pose all the tentacles adding to the play value of the set. The set itself even uses the tentacles to allow for the build to stand up however the height of set is fixed.

Verdict:

Overall the set is certainly one of more interesting and unique Lego Marvel sets and that certainly in itself deserves credit. The build itself whilst not the most complex build is well built and detailed well to capture the overall shape of the character itself and the inclusion of three exclusive minifigures is going to make this a must have set for Lego Marvel collectors and I would certainly recommend picking this set up.

The set will be available starting on the 1st January 2022.

Lego Marvel Superheroes Advent Calendar Day 23

With only two days left of the Lego Marvel Advent Calendar for 2021 lets see what Lego has in store for us.

Day 23:

Day 23 consists of a nice looking small Christmas tree build which manages to capture the overall look and shape of a Christmas tree really well.

The build also comes with an array of gold decoration pieces which looks really nice contrasted up against the tree design. I believe these pieces will be needed for the last entry into the calendar.

Overall you can't go wrong with a Christmas Tree in an advent calendar and certainly this one doesn't disappoint.

Lego Marvel Superheroes Advent Calendar Day 22

Day 21 gave us a great looking micro scale hall of arrmour build, lets see what day 22 has in store for us.

Day 22:

Day 22 returns to minifigures and this time gives up a new version of Thor, whilst the pieces themselves are from different Thor minifigures they are combined here to create a new Thor minifigure with the torso coming from the Lego Marvel sets based on the Marvel Avengers video game combined with the hair piece used for Thor in the Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame sets.

The figures does come with Mjolnir and a red scarf and a white power blast piece to tie Thor into the festive season which is a nice touch.

Overall a good looking minifigure but could have done with some leg printing to make this a great version of Thor.

Lego Marvel Superheroes Advent Calendar Day 21

The last two days have been great looking micro scale builds and hopefully day 21 will continue this tread.

Day 21:

Day 21 continues the micro scale theme of the last couple of days with a micro scale Iron Man hall of armours build.

The build looks fantastic for something which contains so little pieces and is instantly recognisable as the hall of armour which we have gotten in minifigure scale sets before, the trans blue pieces add to the high tech look of the build itself and matches what was previously seen in the original hall of armour build.

The build also comes with three red micro scale statues used in this instance to represent Iron Man suits which is a nice addition.

Overall a great looking micro scale build to continue the trend of recent days.
