* Thanks to The Brick Fan for the news*

Ever since the deal between Lego and Warner Bros ran out in regards to producing and distributing Lego movies. The future of Lego related movies such as The Lego Movie, The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, The Lego Batman Movie and the Lego Ninjago Movie have been up in the air.

Luckily Deadline is reporting that The Lego Group has now signed a new 5 year contract deal with universal Pictures to develop, produce and release new Lego movies.

Head of Entertainment at The Lego Group Jill Wilfert will act as producer on all of the Lego movies released under Universal Pictures And Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich will also produce the next Lego movie.

This is an exciting opportunity for more Lego movies to be produced from different themes from the Lego range and whilst some of the Lego movies couldn't live up to the original Lego movie but by being under the Universal Pictures this creates some many possibilities and could create some interesting projects moving forward.

The Lego group have also announced that they have secured a deal with Universal Music as well to enhance child's creativity play with music, and according to the press statement a Lego will be partnering with Universal Music to release a new theme and line of sets using music itself with the hopes of inspiring a new generation of musicians.

Are you exciting by this news and the possibility of more Lego movies and a new music based theme for 2021, let us know in the comments below.
