Lego Marvel Superheroes 40334 Avengers Tower GWP Review

Today we are looking at the Lego Marvel Superheroes 40334 Avengers Tower GWP (Gift With Purchase) set. The set itself was released as a promo gift with purchase over £75 in conjunction with the release of the Lego sets based on the Avengers: Endgame film that was released in 2019.

The build itself features the redesigned Avengers Tower first briefly seen in Captain America: The Winter Solider and later in Avengers: Age of Ultron and in Spider-Man: Homecoming. The set also comes with a small micro scale Quinjet build, a display stand and comes with one Tony Stark minifigure.

Minifigure:

The set comes with one exclusive minfigure in the form of Tony Stark. The figure I believe is based on his appearance from Avengers: Age of Ultron . The figure itself features a detailed torso design featuring a black base layer with half or the chest piece of the Iron Man suit attached to his body which looks great overall. The figure has the classic Tony Stark face print, but the figure lacks an sort of leg printing which is disappointing.

The figure does also come with one black arm and one red arm showing half of the suit being on, and comes with an Iron Man helmet using the design that we got in the Avengers: Age of Ultron line of sets. The figure does come with a small amount of back printing showing half the amour being attached to his body.

Avengers Tower:

The main part of the set is of course the Avengers Tower which sits really nicely on a black display stand at the bottom which uses some nice black slope pieces to create this smooth display stand and also comes with a piece that allows you to place your Tony Stark minifigure on the actual display stand.

This build itself is fairly large and uses a mix of bricks and plates to create the angles found on the actual Avengers Tower in the films which looks really effective when fully built.

From a front on point of view we get to see a the front of the tower, which uses grill pieces and plates to create the sloped metalic like structure and whilst this isnt't the prettiest angle of the set it sure adds a lot of detail in contrast to the rest of the build.

The back of the tower is a really simple design but adds a lot of structural support to the build with this half circle pillar pieces.

At the top of the tower is of course the main area in which the Avengers are based which we see in Avengers: Age of Ultron. This is a nice overall build and fits in perfectly with the rest of the tower. The top of the tower build makes use of slopped grill pieces, and trans clear cheese slope pieces to create the angular look of the tower. The tower also comes with two printed "A" letters which are placed either side of the tower to capture the iconic look seen in the films.

The set also comes with a micro scale Quinjet build which looks great in micro scale form. The Quinjet does use two blasters normally used by Star Lord in the Guardians of the Galaxy Lego sets as the Quinjets wings which is a clever part use to create the look of the Quinjet. The Quinjet is attached to the tower using a clear pole attached to the side of the tower to create the illusion of flight.

Verdict:

Overall Lego Marvel Superheroes 40334 Avengers Tower is a great little GWP and is a nice set which looks great on display, plus you get an exclusive Tony Stark minifigure which will be a must for those of us who collect the Lego Marvel Superhero minifigures.
