Top 10 Lego Marvel Superhero Minifigures

The Lego Marvel Superheroes theme is without a doubt up there with some of the most poplar themes that Lego is currently producing. This is probably down to the fact that the MCU is one of the biggest franchises going and kids and adults alike go and watch these films and then want to get the sets based around the characters and the films alike.

This top 10 is without a doubt one of the hardest top 10 lists that we have currently done. As a collector of Lego Marvel Superhero figures it was practically difficult to narrow down a list of heroes and villains down to just ten minfigures, but here it goes our top 10 Lego Marvel Superheroes minfigures.

10 - Ant-Man - 76109 Quantum Realm Explorers

This Ant-Man minfigures is without a doubt the best variant that we currently have for the character. Of course Lego did release an Ant-Man in a time heist suit from Avengers: Endgame with an updated screen accurate sealed helmet but for me its the torso and leg design which makes this the better version of the two minfigures. If you take the torso and legs off this version and combine it with the one from the War Machine Buster then you will truly have a great Ant-Man minfigures, but as this series just focuses on individual minfigures and not custom one, this figure just beats it. Of course the helmet on the Ant-Man is still great with its duel moulded red trans eyes, but unfortunately is based on the concept art and not his screen appearance.

9 - Spider-Man 2099 - 76114 Spider-Man's Spider Crawler

Spider-Man is one of the most produced minfigures in the Marvel Superhero range alongside Iron Man and already having three different versions of the web slinger in this top 10 was difficult enough but in spot 9 on the top 10 is Spider-Man 2099. This is the only variant of the character that we currently have and it is so different from all the other versions. The red detailing really stands out from the blue base of the minfigures and the small dotted detailing really makes a lot of difference and make it stand out from the rest of the Spider-Man minfigures.

8 - Stealth Spider-Man - 76128 Molten Man Battle

Just beating Spider-Man 2099 is Stealth Spider-Man from the latest Spider-Man film Spider-Man: Far From Home. Whilst his onscreen suit is 99% black this minfigures goes for a black and grey combination allowing you to see more detailing on the torso of the minifigure.  I especially like the leg print and the head print as well with the goggles printed on giving off a Spider-Man Noir vibe. This minfigures is so different from the classic traditional Spider-Man minfigures that it truly does deserve a place on the top 10 list.

7. Captain America - 76101 Outrider Dropship Attack

Captain America is a staple across the MCU films and has multiple variations through the Lego Marvel Superhero theme but the version from Avengers: Infinity War in my opinion is the best version of the character to date, unless of course they release a full chain mail version as seen in Avengers: Endgame (but for the time being this minfigures will do). I particularly love the torso design with the ripped star symbol on the centre of the chest and love the more bleak version of the suit just like in the film. The bearded look also works really well on the minfigure closely resembling his appearance in Avengers: Infinity War.

6 - Silver Centurion - 5002946

The Silver Centurion armour from Iron Man 3 is without a doubt one of the best Iron Man armours released by Lego and is certainly a highly sort after minfigure from collectors. The minfigure not only contains a nice should pad accessory with a printed arc reactor on the front and printed armour on the back but also a highly detailed torso design with side arm and leg printing which is extremely rare on Lego minfigures in general but is barely seen in the Lego Marvel Superhero line at all. The minfigure also features a bruised Tony Stark head underneath the helmet which is a nice addition to the minfigure.

5 - War Machine - 5005256 Marvel Superheroes Minfigure Collection Bricktober Pack

The Infinity War version of War Machine only came in an exclusive bricktober pack released in celebration of Avengers: Infinity War. This version of War Machine is without a doubt the most detailed version of the minfigure that we have gotten so far. The minfigure features a highly detailed armoured torso design with red highlights, a brick built should canon and a double sided face print, with one side showing War Machine with his heads up display on as if he was inside the helmet. Having this minfigure only being released in the exclusive bricktober pack makes it extremely rare and a highlight to anyone collection.

4 - Spider-Man - 76129 Hydro-Man Attack

At number 4 on the list we have the best version of Spider-Man to date from his appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home sets. This figure is based on the MCU suit and features some exceptional detailing not just on the torso but the legs, face print and arm print as well.

3 - Thor - 76088 Thor vs Hulk: Arena Clash

Rounding out the top 3 is Thor, from his appearance in Thor: Ragnarok. Whilst both versions of Thor from the Thor: Ragnarok sets are excellent in my opinion it is this version of the character which truly stands out. Thor features an excellent moulded helmet, a armoured should pad which also acts as a double sword carrier, excellent torso print not jest featuring his armour but also painted with war paint from the Sarkaran gladiator tournament. This is without a doubt the best version of  Thor we have gotten so far.

2 - Mysterio - 76129 Hydro-Man Battle

Mysterio appears in all three of the Spider-Man: Far From Home sets and with good reason this figure is excellent to look at. The minfigure features some excellent torso and leg printing design featuring gold and dark pink highlights on a dark green suit. The stand out feature has to be the fish bowl style helmet given to the minfigure really capturing his appearance in Spider-Man: Far From Home. This minfigure is honestly one of the stand out minfigures of recent years in my opinion.

1 - Iron Man Mark 41 - 76125 Iron Man Hall of Armour

And at the number 1 spot on our list is the Iron Man Mark 41 suit. This was a tough decision especially with all the different Iron Man suits we have gotten over the years but in our opinion this is the best suit to date (a separate top 10 Iron Man suits list will follow). The suit features excellent printing all around with gold fine lines on a black torso, the level of detail really makes this suit stand out with the rest of the Iron Man suits. If you look closely enough there is even small dots added to the armour to get it a more metallic finish. This suit features a clear translucent head piece as it is not currently by piloted by Tony Stark but that doesn't take anything away from the minfigure itself.

So there you have it our top 10 Lego Marvel Superhero Minfigures. What's on your top 10 list let us know in the comments below.

Lego Marvel 76141 Thanos Mech Review

Continuing with the Lego Marvel mechs review from yesterday we have set 76141 Thanos Mech. The mech itself contains 145 pieces and a Thanos minifigure and retails for £8.99 over here in the UK.

Thanos:

This is the first true minifigure scale Thanos that we have got men since the Lego Marvel superhero theme started. The figure itself has a highly detailed torso and leg print which is rare in Lego Marvel figures and an appropriate angry face for the character. Personally the only downside to this minifigure is the helmet, personally the helmet is way too bright but it’s the best they could do for a minifigure version of Thanos at this scale.

The build:

Just like the Iron Man Mech Thanos Mech is built very similar. The set features moveable limbs built on ball joint led sockets and features a lot of nice gold armour that covers the overall mech. The most impressive feature is the Infinity Gauntlet which includes all six infinity stones, apart from being a bit to large in terms of the actual scale of the mech but it really had to be to fit all six infinity stones onto the infinity gauntlet. Thanos can sit in the mech by pulling the chest piece down and Thanos fits neatly and tightly into the mech.

Overall for a price of £8.99 it’s a nice little set with a great but out of scale infinity gauntlet. The Thanos minifigure is a bonus to the set and is highly detailed minifigure in its own right. The set might not be a must have but the minifigure is a worthy addition to your Lego Marvel minifigure collection.

Lego Technic 42111 Fast and Furious: Dom’s Dodge Charger Official Images

Lego has officially released images of the latest the Lego Technic set to be hitting the shelves, this time for theme is tying in with the Fast and Furious franchise with set 42111 Dom’s Dodge Charger. The set itself will retail for around €99.99 and should be released on the 27th April. You can check out more picture below:

Thank you to promobricks for the official images.

Lego 76140 Iron Man Mech Review

Lego 76140 Iron Man Mech is one of the latest Lego Marvel sets released by Lego as part of there winter 2020 range. The set features 137 pieces, retails for £8.99 here in the UK and comes with one Iron Man minifigure based on his appearance in the upcoming Avengers video game.

Iron Man

First of it has to be said that this Iron Man minifigure is stunning, the level of detail is exceptional as includes some excellent shading between the different red tones and the gold highlights used to show off different parts of the armour. The minifigure comes with the newer invincible Iron Man helmet design which closely resembles his appearance in the Avengers video game. The minifigure has a duel sided face, one side featuring a more released Tony Stark and the other featuring his heads up display when in the Iron Man Suit. Iron Man also comes with two power blast accessories.

The Build:

The build itself is straight forward with nothing overall complicated about the overall design. The mech features some nice red and gold detailing and the use of stickers had some armoured detailing to the set. The mechs limbs are attached using small ball joint pieces allowing for a full range of articulation in the arms, knees, hips and feet of the mech. The central chest piece pulls down to allow Iron Man to be placed in the cockpit of the mech (seen in the picture above). One of the main play features is a shoulder cannon on the mechs left hand side which can shoot out single trans blue stud pieces by pushing the gold lever at the back of the shoulder canon.

The back of the mech is well covered up using small plates and allows for a sleek look to the overall mech design. The shoulder canon can be folded down and stored down the back of the mech when not is use.

Overall this isn’t the best mech that Lego has produced but how can you complain with a price of £8.99 you get an exclusive Iron Man figure and a small mech build that has lots of playability in its design. A worthy note is that this set looks a lot better in person then it does on the box so don’t let that put you off from purchasing this set.

Top 10 Lego Star Wars UCS Set

The Lego Star Wars theme doesn't just make minifugre scale and playsets based on vehicles and locations from the highly popular Star Wars franchise but also produces a wide range of highly detailed and larger scale sets targeted to an adult collector audience. Today we take a look back at the Lego Star Wars UCS line and choose our top 10 sets.

10 - 10277 B-Wing - 1487 pieces - £169.99

I have always been a fan of the B-Wing design and own the newest version of the iconic ship in regular scale sets, but the UCS B-wing is an absolutely stunning version including a highly detailed exterior, a rotating cockpit located at the top of the vehicle and a display stand allowing you to display the vehicle in flight, which is honestly one of the best ways to display the set. The set doesn't include any minifugres unlike newer UCS sets but the detailing sure makes up for that.

9 - 75144 Snowspeeder - 1703 pieces - £169.99

There have been two iterations of the UCS Snowspeeder but 75144 is without a doubt the best version of the set. The set features a highly detailed version of the vehicle with an opening detailed cockpit, a rotating harpoon gun on the rear of the vehicle and two opening dorsal fins. The set also includes two minifugers Will Scotian and Zev Senesca (two rebel pilots). The set also includes a display stand allowing you to angle the Snowspeeder for display.

8 - 75181 Y-Wing - 1967 pieces - £169.99

The Y-Wing is a classic Rebellion starfighter used as a bomber during the Galactic Civil War. Set 75181 is a stunning set and is the best version of the Y-Wing we have received to date, obviously with a larger price bracket comes a lot more pieces to use as detailing and the Y-Wing is no exception with some stunning use of grebbling, and of course a display stand and plaque to allow you to display the set in flight mode. The set comes with two minifugres John Vander (rebel pilot) and R2-BDH.

7 - 75095 Tie Fighter - 1685 pieces - £179.99

Set 75095 Tie Fighter is one of the most detailed Tie Fighters we have ever received obviously due to its much large scale. Whilst the build itself is rather repetitive with the duel classic Tie Fighter wing design but it can't take away from the fact that it looks amazing on display. The set comes with one minifigure a Tie Pilot and a nice display plaque with information about the vehicle itself.

6 - 10221 Super Star Destroyer - 3152 pieces - £349.99

The Super Star Destroyer is up there with some of the largest Lego Star Wars UCS sets. This is a fantastic interpretation of Darth Vaders Executioner Super Star Destroyer seen in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of Jedi. The set features a display stand to elevate the model and a small Star Destroyer bridge interior where you can place the minfigures. The set contains five minfigures including Darth Vader, Bossk, Dengar, IG-88 and Admiral Piett, and also includes a to scale Star Destroyer.

5 - 10212 Imperial Shuttle -2503 pieces - £245.99

The Imperial Shuttle rounds out the top 5 of our UCS Lego Star Wars Set, going against the traditional grey vehicles we are used to seeing and the white colour design stands out against other UCS sets. The vehicle features an opening cockpit and the wings are connected using hinged pieces allowing you to display the set in a landing position and in flight mode. The set contains Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Stormtrooper and an Imperial officer.

4 - Ultimate Collectors Millennium Falcon - 5197 pieces - £342.99

The first and original version of the Millennium Falcon in UCS scale is the envy of most Lego Star Wars fans collection. This 5197 is without a doubt one of best UCS sets going. Not only is the set one of the largest Lego UCS sets but it is a highly detailed model of the famous Millennium Falcon. The set comes with five minifugres including Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca and Obi-Wan-Kenobi.

3 - 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer - 4784 pieces - £649.99

Rounding out the top three is the UCS Imperial Style Destroyer. This is the second iteration of the classic Star Destroyer and is without a doubt the better of the two models. Coming in at 4784 pieces allowed for an incredible detailed model include loads of cool features including canons and a highly detailed bridge area at the top of the Star Destroyer, the set also has a built in handle to help move the ship around. The set comes with two minfigures an Imperial crew member and a Imperial officer and a display stand and plaque.

2 - 75060 Slave 1 - 1996 pieces - £179.99

The top two places in the top 10 UCS set was an extremely difficult to decide but in out number 2 slot is 75060 Slave 1. This is without a doubt the best version of the Slave 1 we have ever received from Lego. The set is stunning on display features rotating wings and duel front blasters. The set comes with Boba Fett, Han Solo, Bespin guard and a Stormtrooper, all in which are highly detailed. This is without a doubt one of the best UCS sets out there.

1 - 75192 - Millennuim Falcon - 7541 pieces - £649.99

Of course the number one slot on the top 10 has to go to the newest Millennium Flacon. The set in my opinion is a vast improvement over the original set and features a much more sleek version of the Falcon. The set features interchangeable radar dish allowing you to change from the original trilogy Falcon to the sequel trilogy Falcon. This version all contains some interior areas as well which the previous Falcon didn't. The set contains a wide selection of minifigures such as Han Solo (Empire Strikes Back), Han Solo (Force Awakens), Princess Leia, Chewbacca, Rey, Finn, C3PO, 2x Porgs and a brickbuilt Mynock. This is the crown jewl in any Lego Star Wars fans collection.

So there it is our top 10 Lego Star Wars UCS sets, what is on your list let us know.

Lego Marvel 30453 Captain Marvel and Nick Fury Polybag Review

Lego Marvel 30453 Captain Marvel and Nick Fury is one the latest Lego polybags to be released un the Lego Marvel Superhero’s lime. The set itself is based on the first encounter of Captain Marvel and Nick Fury from Captain Marvel releases in 2019.

Whilst the build itself is rather small it’s the minifigures that really stand out in this polybag.

Captain Marvel:

Captain Marvel is seen wearing her alter Starforce suit from the beginning of Captain Marvel. What’s interesting about this figure is that it was originally released last year as part of a SDCC (San Diageo Comic Con) set. Due to this figure being released only in that set at the times it became really hard to get for collectors, lucky enough for those of us who missed out on the minifigure we finally have the exact same version here in this polybag.

Captain Marvel features a highly detailed blue Starforce outfit with some excellent detailing, the figure contains an alternate face print showing a more stern Captain Marvel facial expression and a more smiley one seen in the image above. The figure also comes with two power blast accessories in trans orange with is much more accurate then the ones we got in her original appearance in the tie in Captain Marvel Lego set.

Nick Fury:

Nick Fury is a nice addition to the set, as most polybags normally only contain one minifigure. His appearance however is the exact same copy found in the Lego tie in set released to tie in with the film. The minifigure features a nicely detailed torso, but lacks any detailing on the legs. The minifigure also has a double side face print with a more stern expression.

The build:

The build itself is a nice little phone booth, what it lacks in accuracy it sure makes up for it in detailing with a phone and pin pad located in the middle of the phone booth, a nice windscreen piece used as the booth window, a couple of nice accessories on top featuring a Walkly Talky, another pin pad and an old VHS tape. A surprise feature is the inclusion of the Tesseract (The space infinity stone) hidden to the side of the build (Not exactly a great hiding spot from Thanos)

Overall this is a great little polybag with a fun little build and a chance to get an exclusive hard to get minifigure. This is a highly recommended polybag for any Lego Marvel collection.
