Carrying on with our top 10 lists we have the top 10 Lego DC Comics Super Heroes sets. Now this list excludes certain subthemes such as the initial Lego Batman theme which kick started Legos venture into DC comics and The Lego Batman Movie sets, both of these will be covered in another top 10 post in the future. So here it is our top 10 Lego DC Comics Superhero Sets.
10 - 76095 Black Manta Strikes - 235 pieces - £29.99
Starting off the top 10 list is set 76095 Black Manta Strikes consisting of 235 pieces and retailing for £29.99 over here in the UK. The set features three main characters from the Aquaman film and features Aquaman, Mera and Black Manta (who has an excellent moulded helmet design). The set itself is really nice and is shaped like a manta ray and contains a six stud shooter at the front of the vehicle and two spring loaded shooters which are well hidden in the set itself, plus you get a bonus shark which is always a bonus.
9 - 76028 Darkseid Invasion - 545 pieces - £59.99
Set 76028 Darkseid Invasion might not be the prettiest set there is but includes a great range of minfigures and "big figs" including Superman, Cyborg, Hawkman, Green Arrow and Darkseid. When the set was originally released this was our first opportunity to get Hawkman, Cyborg, Green Arrow and Darkseid in minifigure or big fig form, with Darkseid being exclusive to this set.
8 - 76946 Heroes of Justice: Sky High Battle - 517 pieces - £54.99
At number 8 on the list we have set 76946 Heroes of Justice: Sky High Battle. This set is one of three sets released in conjunction with the DC Batman vs Superman film. Whilst not particularly my favourite of the three sets (you will see my favourite later in the top 10) it certainly has some cool features. The actual Bat vehicle has a opening cockpit, a six stud shouter on the front of the vehicle and folding wings which allow you to move the vehicle from flight mode and then by folding the wings up to have the vehicle in landing mode. The set also includes a small helicopter build (which is not necessarily overly impressive) and five figures including Batman, Superman Louis Lane, Lex Luthor and our first ever DCEU inspired Wonder Woman.
7 - 6863 Batwing Battle over Gotham City - 278 pieces - £34.99
One of the early sets in the Lego DC Comics Superhero line was set 6863 Batwing Battle over Gotham City. Whilst the set it not overly huge you do get a cool interpretation of the Batwing with moving wings, a Joker helicopter and three minifigure including Batman, Joker and a Joker henchman as well, and at a price of £34.99 its a definite must have set.
6 - 76045 Kryptonite Interception - 306 pieces - £29.99
Set 76045 Kryptonite Interception not only made it onto our top 10 Lego DC Comics Superhero sets but is also our favourite tie in set from the DC Batman vs Superman film. Not only is this set the cheapest way to get Ben Afflecks Batman, but you are getting a really nice and accurate Batmobile based on the DCEU Batmobile, and three minfigures including Batman and two henchman, and of course a little forklift truck with a nice function allowing you to move the pallet of Kryptonite up and done which is a nice feature.
5 - 76119 Batmobile: Pursuit of the Joker - 342 pieces - £24.99
The next Batmobile on the list comes from set 76119: Batmobile: Pursuit of the Joker. For a price of £24.99 you get a lovely looking Tim Burton inspired Batmobile which looks stunning, the cheapest way to get the new Batman and Joker minfigure which have excellent prints all round, and these giant bat inspired armour and weapon pieces which are additional pieces to adapt the Batmobile to your own imagination and to get Batman so cool new gadgets.
4 - 76052 Batman Classic TV Series - Batcave - 2526 pieces - £239.99
The second largest DC Comic Superhero set in the top 10 list is of course set 76052 Batman Classic TV Series - Batcave standing at 2526 pieces. This set is based on the classic TV series and features three separate parts of the Batcave that can be joined together including a helipad with under storage area for the Batmobile, an area for the Bat computer and a large build including a small office build of Wayne manor with two fireman polls that take you down to the Batcave. The set includes nine minfigures including Batman, Robin, Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson, The Joker, The Penguin, The Riddler and Catwoman.
3 - 10937 Batman: Arkham Asylum Breakout - 1869 pieces - £159.99
Rounding out the top 3 is set 10937 Batman: Arkham Asylum Breakout. The set features a gorgeous interpretation of the famous Arkham Asylum in all its gothic glory on the front of the set and on the back of the set features a range of rooms including prison cells and control rooms. The set features eight minfigures including Batman, Robin, The Penguin, The Joker, Poison Ivy, Scarecrow, Harley Quinn and a Security officer.
2 - 76023 The Tumbler - 1869 pieces - £159.99
Now this was a tricky decision to make between two sets for the top two spots on the top 10 list, but in the number two spot is set 76023 The Tumbler with 1869 pieces. The set is based on The Tumbler from Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy and is a stunning set in itself. The set features a highly accurate version of the vehicle, two minfigures including Christian Bales Batman and the only Heath Ledgers Joker minifigure we have ever gotten in Lego form and a collectors plaque with details about the vehicle. This is without a doubt one of the best Lego DC Comics Superhero sets.
1 - 76139 1989 Batmobile - 3306 pieces - £219.99
At the number one spot and in our opinion the best Lego DC Comics Superhero set is without a doubt set 76139 1989 Batmobile. This without a doubt is a highly accurate model which captures the sleek design of the highly famous Batmobile. This set from certain angles doesn't even look like a Lego set and could be any other highly detailed collectable model, but for Lego to pull this off is highly impressive. The set also contains a collectors plaque, and three minfigures on there own stand including Batman with a new flowing cape and cowl piece, The Joker and Vicky Vale. This is a must have set and is proving very popular with movie and Lego fans alike.
